A nation in awakening!!!

I was there! When a whole nation awakened for a cause, a just one; breaking all boundaries of caste, creed. religion, age, gender and occupation (Well, almost!). When a man, himself living as a saint, fasted for days at a stretch, not for salvation, freedom or nirvana, but for the nation, for the people, most of whom still doubt his methods and intentions.

I always wondered why the Indian war for Independence wasn't acknowledged as a revolution, unlike the French or the English ones. Maybe, this is the time, for a revolution and uprising, a non-violent but much more fierce one. Maybe, it is time for the Indian to rise, and show his power to his own corrupted brethren of the ruling class. Maybe, it is time for him to demand for what has been looted, out of his own pockets, from decades at a stretch.

I know there will be people who try to put all the efforts in vain, still thinking whether a non-corrupted India would survive or not. That the 'bill' is not what India wants to take out corruption. That Anna does not deserve the 'spotlight' he currently resides in. I would urge these brethren of mine to once take a look at the person himself, weak but unrelenting, and the ideals he has stood for his own life. A person, who probably, in the rest of his life would have never paid a tip to a 'babu' for passing a file. But still, he is fasting there for 9 days, smiling, so that you can have all the money you deserve, safe in your own pockets. The 'bill' may not be perfect, but is definitely our best foot forward. And this very person is the pillar around which we can construct a newer, better tomorrow for ourselves.

I do not know how much the 'sarkari babu' is going to change by this bill, or how much of the black money comes back into the Indian treasury, but I sure know now how a calm and composed person can bring a revolution.
I did not see Mahatma Gandhi, but that was till yesterday.

An adventure into Paradise.... and back!

A place called Spiti, with an aura so divine and fresh and the air so pure, that our nostrils which have got accustomed to inhaling the polluted air cannot handle. Even the sun shines so bright that the skin develops patches of red and black. Polluted, yes that is what we are. I found a part of me that was untouched so far. A desire unmet, a promise unfulfilled or an adventure unexperienced. A trip to the beautiful Spiti valley, and all the needless desires feel at vain. If life is an adventure, I sure have lived a part of it.
Some say it is dangerous, well, what isn't? Isn't life a journey between problems and having a dream destination worth dying for? A trek, therefore, is no different from life, a journey between landslides, rain, hail, snow and countless other problems and ending in an ultimate location. Surely, even heaven would not be as beautiful if the road which led to it was easy.
After encountering through adventures like these, the mind starts contemplating as to what have we earned in all our lives? Are we too stuck within our routine jobs as to stop enjoying what the Lord has to offer on earth? Do we choose the crowdy and noisy hill stations too easily over the calm and serene landscapes like Spiti? Everyone knows the answers, but a few understand the question. I know it now, and hope you do so too, soon!
Life is either a great adventure or nothing. - Hellen Keller

Love in the air!!

Kabhi khuda se tumko mangte the sapno main,
Ab to bas tum hi reh gaye ho mere apno main,
Maana ki tumhe mile zamana ho gaya,
Likhi thi gazal, magar apna hi fasana ho gaya!!

Maana ki tumse abhi bahut door hoon,
Khuda ki kasam bahut mazboor hoon,
Waada karo nahi rahogi gumsum,
Kyonki dil main to rehti ho sirf tum!

Kya karun, haule haule jo mera dil ga raha hai,
Ab to har pal bas tumhe hi bula raha hai,
Aayenge milne jald hi, karte hain ye wada,
Pyaar milega tumhe, ummeed se kain zada!

Zara nazar utha ke dekho, baithe hain hum yahin,
Abhi ho rahe hain juda, par milenge fir wahin,
Bekhabar humse kyon ho, itne bure bhi hum nahi,
Dekh lo hume jee bharke, kho na jayein hum kahin!!!

:) :)

You make me laugh, and you make me cry,
Just be with me as the years go by,
Just hold my hand, and don't ask why,
It is not so tough, Do give it a try,
Do not regret, And don't feel shy,
It is all true, And it is no lie,
Your love is what makes me feel high,
So, close your eyes as our souls fly,
Over the mountains, into the sky!!!
